Children and Charity Liberia Projects

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Our Liberia project began in 2005 at the Buduburam Refugee Camp in Ghana where in collaboration with the Liberian Refugee Welfare Council we supported children, youth and families with education, skills training and humanitarian aid.   Today, we continue to help those who have repatriated from the camps back to Liberia. CAC strives to intervene early in the lives of children in the belief that education is a lifelong gift that empowers people to ultimately improve socioeconomic conditions for their families, communities, country, and future generation.  To serve more effectively, CAC registered Children and Charity Liberia in 2013 and has been supporting education, seminars, workshops on HIV AIDS and teenage pregnancy prevention, and shipment of needed supplies to Liberia. CAC has helped over 8,000 children in their educational quest, and supported over 4,500 families with aid and annual supplies.

EBOLA PREVENTIVE EFFORTS

The Ebola crisis was particularly hard on the people of Liberia. Children and Charity International worked with the local, on-site team, and engaged in the fight against Ebola.

MOVING FORWARD

CAC Liberia is now on a quest to provide solar lights to residents of Grand Bassa County especially women-owned, small businesses. There are also plans to deliver clean drinking water and support small farmers in Monrovia and surrounding communities to improve their health and livelihood.

Celebration

Children and Charity USA sponsors a Day of Celebration to welcome in the New Year.  Local CAC personnel in Liberia host over 500 children at the Buchanan Children Playground in Grand Bassa County, Monrovia Liberia.  It is exciting to see children having fun and enjoying great music, food, and gifts as shown below:
