Summer Youth Employment Program!
June 2009
The summer youth program and other pre-college activities are in full session. This year, 30 youth has joined Children & Charity International in a continued collaboration with the District of Columbia: Department of Employment Services, Office of Youth Programs. CAC is hosting these youth from June 22 to August 21, 2009. Several youth serve as Teachers' Aides to the 500+ students that attend the Saturday Academy and SEMAA summer programs. While other participants assist with administrative work and field trips. Teamwork, conflict resolution, communication skills and interaction with professionals are an integral part of the overall experience.
SUSHISAMBA Valentine’s Day!
February 2009
During the week of Valentine’s Day, SUSHISAMBA restaurants received valentine templates to color for CAC’s Saturday program participants. The templates were presented to Samba Kids restaurant guests to decorate before their meal. The valentines were then collected and sent to Children & Charity International and were opened on Valentine’s Day - Saturday February 14, 2009 by students in the program. Thank you SUSHISAMBA.
